Honeymoon. June 2010

We went to Dominican Republic for our honeymoon. Kind of a random place to end up I suppose, but it was beautiful! It wasn’t the smoothest vacation weve had and I will explain.

Beginning with a 7 hour drive to Las Vegas, since that is where we flew out of. Arriving at the airport and not being able to get our tickets. I had fraud on my card two months prior and the card I originally bought the tickets with no longer existed. Long story short.. we had to buy new tickets. Now before we left we put 1500 bucks in our checking account thinking that would be more than enough to handle us while we are gone and like 1000 dollars cash. With another ticket purchase we were down to 500 bucks in our account. The said the refund should take about 5 business days with memorial holiday. We barely make our flight, have a layover in florida from about 11pm to 4am. Flew out and arrive in the D.R. about 8am.

Once we arrive to our place we check in, everything goes fine ($250.00 for the week because of a family time share) and then they say that will be 1800 dollars. (side note: I called multiple times prior ensuring that this was not an all inclusive resort. All three times they said no it was optional. Our plan was to buy groceries and eat out.) It was not an option. Normally we would just pay it, however we were a little short with the earlier mishap of purchasing new airfare. So me and Jordan tried to figure out some sort of plan; couldn’t transfer from savings because it was a weekend. Credit card limit only had a thousand, cash was for our excursions, etc. The hotel employee started calling around to see if there were any openings around that we could go to instead. They found another place but it wasn’t available til Monday (it was Saturday) if we stayed at our current place for two nights it would make it so we couldn’t even afford the second place.

Jordan decided to call his dad. Their wedding gift to us was going to be new couches.. instead we had to have them cover this because to say the least, we were in a pickle. Took forever to get a hold of him because no one answers an out of area number and our cell phones didn’t work.

After being in their lobby for about 4 hours we finally got checked in. Everything after that was honestly INCREDIBLE. We stayed in punta cana for 6 days and then 2 days in the capital.

Wedding Day. May 2010

Jordan and I had a wonderful wedding day! Stressful of course, but so fun and was happy with how everything turned out. Didn’t have any of the food which was a total let down! Here are some pictures to recap the day.

Blog... What Blog?

Being engaged is exhausting, especially when working full time, and having school non stop. We are getting by with the lovely help of our friends and family! We have been engaged since the end of January and I feel as though it has just flown by. The big day is in two weeks! Un-FREAKIN-Real! I can't wait though!

*No more living alone
*Honeymoon
*Spend the rest of my life with my best friend
*Being apart of his incredible family

Couldn't ask for anything else. The next couple weeks are going to be awesome. Tonight I have a bachelorette shower (yes, we made it up) All the girls are getting together for a wonderful evening away from the men to enjoy just the simple company of one another. Tomorrow family bridal shower. Thursday I take out my endowments. Go to vegas next weekend with the girls for one last hoorah! Married the next week. Dominican Republic the next! The only downfall is we are both in school this summer, but we are motivated to get done so we do what we need to.

Here are some of our engagements

Christmas Vacation in Cali

Sooooo.... its been awhile i have been super busy with just a looooot.
The week before christmas we decided to pay my mother a little visit in cali. We drove down thursday and came back monday. It was a short trip, but was so pleasant! We left at about 6 from salt lake and arrive in LA at 3:00am. Friday, slept in of course and woke up to a delicious meal made from my mom. She is so fantastic with breakfast, mmmmmmmmm! Then we did a little beach shopping and walked around town, we went to captain kidds had some delicious crab (so fresh.) If you havent been there, go!
In Redondo beach area their little town every year for christmas i guess decorates like crazy. I mean every tree was done up, almost ever house participated and plus these people dont just do lights they have crafted and done some impressive wood work to keep their audiences entertained. So after we had a delightful meal around the table we put on a sweatshirt and walked up and down the streets to see all the different decorations. Oh and to top it off they sold churros, yep one of my favorite things in the whole world. Everyone had little things at their house from popcorn to hot cocoa (fyi it was like 60 degrees and these californians were all bundled up-jordan of course in shorts and flip flops)
The next morning we surprised jordan with disneyland (the poor kid has never been there and lets face it my mom was not about to let that pass by her) She treated everyone to disneyland. So FUN! Some memories that came from there include
-dawson buying one of those mickey ears tucking his shirt in, letting his belt flop out at the end, pulling his shorts up.
-trying on all sorts of hats and posing with them
-cutting through lines (yes me and jordan.. its official if this were a sport we would be unstoppable!)
-after every ride my mom would go to jordan with such an excitement and ask what did you think about that one! its great right! i mean like when...!
-trying to keep everyone together all the time was an absolute joke!
-paying 60.00 for lunch for 4 people
-at the end of the night due to the holidays they put on a firework show included with fake snow.. watching these peoples faces and reaching up to the sky in amazement ... so pathetic haha wish yo could have all experienced it.
-brock thinking that things in toon town were real. The weights jord is lifting up brock was pulling on it forever thinking it was real. hahah
Sunday we just spent the whole day together, celebrated christmas and brocks birthday, called it a day. Fun weekend! Miss those two already like crazy i.e. my mom and brock

my family is awesome.

Festival of Trees and Nickelcade

Friday Night me and jordan doubled with Justin and Lindsey. We had quite the evening ahead of us. First Lindsey cooked a delicious mexican dish (in request of jordan) We had chicken encheladas and rice. It was so cute we were all sitting at the table eating dinner, enjoying a delightful conversation full of laughs and what not. After dinner we went to the festival of trees... um holy gingerbread houses! They were so freakin' cute! They had houses from Up, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Home Alone, Nightmare before Christmas! It was so fun to see them all. Our next stop, while in our christmas moods was to go to the house that has their lights linked up with the radio station.. after about driving around for about a half hour looking for it we found it! oh joyous.. get all parked... positioned just right... and it turns off. Apparently it ends at 11 and we got there at like 10.59pm. Lovely.
"Up"
"nightmare before christmas"
"cloudy with a chance of meatballs"
Saturday me and jordan promised brock we would take him out on a night on the town. He loves hanging out with us because 1. we spoil him and 2. we are just so cool who wouldnt want to. So we had dinner at my dads then we took him to nickelcade and pretty much just let him go to town, i accidently got double the nickels because the lady there misunderstood my request.. so we make our way from arcade games to basketball to air hockey.. then we come upon this new addition.. its an aircraft game.
Image: big pilot chair, two pedals, joy stick, accerlartor switch, three screens that surround you, topped off with orange and black exterior. Well Jordan suggests this game to brock, he of course jumps right in.. Jordan decided it would be entertaining to film him while playing ( i wish i could upload the video, it was apppppsolutely hilarious!) so when he has to barrell roll or turn to go through a hoop on the game he would turn with it. He was all over the place to say the least. Any way that concluded our evening there, left with a bunch of useless crap we got with our tickets, stopped on the way home to get a treat and ending at my place playing super nintendo!
